Revealing Information About Mohammed Alabbar

Mohammed Alabbar is a well known and respected citizen of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He is from Dubai and is a senior aide to one of the country’s rulers, Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Mohammed is also a member of the Dubai Executive Council.

He once served as the Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economic Development and was also Chairman of Emaar, the largest real estate company in the world. As an influential leader of Emaar Properties, he was partly responsible for the amazing growth of real estate segment in UAE.

Emaar Properties is a public joint stock company that was established in 1997. The company is listed in the Dubai Financial Market and is owned in majority by the Dubai Government. The company has built thousands of properties in UAE and developed the tallest building in the world known as the Burj Khalifa.

Alabbar has also contributed greatly to the economic development of UAE and Dubai in particular. Under his management, the Department of Economic Development strengthened trade policies and established transparency in business operations in Dubai. He has also played an important role in the non-oil industry when he was connected with Dubai Aluminum Company Ltd which was between 1992 to 2003.

As Vice Chairman of Dubai World Trade Center, he developed the region into a conference and exhibition hub. He is also the Chairman of Emcredit which is the very first independent credit information corporation in United Arab Emirates. He also traveled to North Korea in 2007 to explore potential business opportunities in this region.

Mohammed Alabbar graduated from Seattle University Albers School of Business and Economics. In 1981, he earned a degree in Finance and Business Administration. In 2007, he also earned an Honorary Doctoral degree in humanities. He is an avid sportsman and has keen interest in playing golf. He is also known to support the Dubai Desert Classic Golf Tournament.
